Mid-Century Modern Refined in Dunthorpe
The goal for this classic mid-century modern gem was clear: provide a complete kitchen upgrade that felt as though it had always been part of the original floor plan. To honor the home’s iconic roots, we selected a palette that feels both fresh and nostalgic.
The design centers on clean, white matte lacquer cabinetry paired with a warm wood-laminate island. To create a seamless transition between the kitchen and dining area, we utilized dividing base units that define the rooms without closing them off. Rather than fighting the home’s unique architecture, we embraced its interesting angles by creating a custom, floor-to-ceiling wall of shallow storage—even incorporating a clever hidden compartment for the Lutron lighting controls. A matching floating credenza in the dining room serves as the final thread, tying the two spaces together in perfect mid-century harmony.
